Removal of FEG Fluctuations in STEM Imaging
نویسنده
چکیده
Scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) images often show intensity noise due to emission fluctuation. This type of image noise often happens with field emission guns (FEG) and we may call it FEG noises. The FEG noise can become readily noticeable for a certain high intensity STEM images and usually deteriorate image quality. Fig. 1A shows an annular dark field (ADF) STEM image, where the horizontal lines are due to FEG fluctuation. Not only the FEG noise creates annoying extra contrast, it also reduces the visibility of low contrast objects in the image, as shown in Fig. 1A.

Noninvasive Stem Cell Labeling Using USPIO Technique and their Detection with MRI
Background: To date, several imaging techniques to track stem cells are used such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), Bioluminescence imaging (BLI), fluorescence imaging, CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although, overall sensitivity of MRI compared to SPECT and Bioluminescence techniques are lower, but due to high spatial reso...
متن کاملPushing the XEDS Boundaries in Materials Research: Low Voltage XED Spectrum Imaging in the FEG-SEM
Low-voltage high resolution imaging in advanced field emission gun scanning electron microscopes (FEG-SEMs) is an essential technique in the characterisation of a broad range of materials – particularly for polymers and complex multiphase/multicomponent materials, that can experience significant charging effects during conventional 10 to 20 kV imaging. In particular, the analysis of corrosion s...
متن کاملCLINICAL CORRELATIONS BETWEEN AUDITORY BRAIN STEM RESPONSE AND MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING IN PATIENTS WITH DEFINITE MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
In an attempt to assess objectively the integrity of the auditory pathways in 30 patients with definite multiple sclerosis (MS), an audiometric evaluation was performed and auditory brainstem responses (ABRs) were obtained. Stressing the auditory system by increasing the stimulation rate showed some enhancement in the identification of MS. 24 (RO%) patients had an abnormal ABR along with c...

Introduction: Neuromyelitis Optica (NMO) is a rare inflammatory disease of the central nervous system which generally affecting the spinal cord and optic nerve. Damage to the optic nerve can result in the patient's dim vision or even blindness, while the spinal cord damage may lead to sensory and motor paralysis and the weakness of the lower limbs in the patient. Magnetic Reson...
